HOLY SNOW, BATMAN

Yes, we live in Germany, and no we don't expect a lot of snow. Last winter was considered bad. This winter it started snowing before Thanksgiving and has not let up. Our German neighbor said it is the worst winter in 20 years. They shut down the Frankfurt airport yesterday. They just are not prepared. I am hoping they don't run out of salt again this year. Last year they did, and the roads were just aweful.

Our backyard. This happened in just a little over an afternoon. This was Sunday afternoon, needless to say, Church was canceled. It rained on Monday, and on Tuesday we got another 6 inches. It only took 3 hours for the 6 inches on Tuesday. So now you know why I am saying it is a crazy lot of snow. We are just not used to it. We are so unprepared. We borrowed some snow pants from our neighbors for Maddi and Chase. The ones we borrowed for Chase are crazy short, so my goal in the next week is to get some snow boots and pants for the kids. Even German stores have been out lately because of all the snow.

They don't plow the side roads. We are responsable for shoveling 5 feet of our road, or in other words, we are pretty much in charge of clearing the snow off half our road from where our driveway starts to where our house ends. Ethan is getting some great workouts in. :)

This was just so beautiful. I had to take a picture of the stream with snow and the trees. It just looks so Christmas-ie.

This is the most acurate way to show the snow that we got in one day. Crazy lot for over here.
